Introduction

The main purpose behind the establishment of JICC is to provide chartering/ship broking services to the direct owners: Jordan Phosphate Mines Co., (JPMC) with 30% ownership, Arab Potash Co, (APC) with 20% ownership, Jordan National Shipping Lines Co., (JNSL)with 40% ownership. and clarksons with 10% ownership.

MESSRS CLARKSONS,who are also a renowned English shipbroking company based in London joined forces with (JICC) in the year 2005 as strategic partners to jicc in order to enhance our activities and widen the scope of our work to best serve our clients.

JICC is considered as an exclusive ship broker and the shipping arm for all C&F based shipments for (JPMC) and (APC), the two who are considered of the biggest leading fertilizer producers and exporters in the world. JICC's expertise lies in the break bulk of both dry and wet cargoes, it also acts as a shipbroker for JNSL owned vessels; whereby the later is a Jordanian national ship owning company that renders shipping services to the Jordanian export and import activities. In addition it serves the need of other fertilizer producers in the locality and some of the leading international trading organizations, and hopes to further widen its client base.

Objective

It is the objective of JICC to expand beyond the horizons of serving its owners; the ultimate aim of the company is to become internationally acclaimed as a major Arab ship broking house.

Mission

JICC's primary mission is to find suitable vessels in the open spot market, especially in the Red Sea area, and fix the required vessels with competitive freight rates an negotiate voyage or time charter parties to best suit its principals' intersts. JICC holds a wide network of shipbrokers and enjoys good reciprocal relations with the international and local ship owners and operators; the thing that enables JICC to locate a variety of suitable vessels as per the principals' requirements and needs, at the best rates possible, in order to move cargoes out of Aqaba Port in Jordan, (whether rock phosphate, potash, fertilizers and phosphoric acid) to various areas such as the Indian Sub-Continent, Far East, Middle East, Arabian Gulf and the Mediterranean area, JICC serves the needs of clients in Asia and around the world.

JICC handles approximately two to three million tons of dry/wet bulk cargo per year.and on an average of 150 handysize vessels per year.
JICC has been awarded the ISO 9002 certification from Lloyds register in year 1997.
